Version 2.10.0 Beta
Mbox Viewer Pro for Linux
The same app as on Mac and Windows, with the same features, built natively with GTK 4 and libadwaita. It opens MBOX and EML files of any size on your own computer, without uploading anything. Without a licence it works as the free version, with mailboxes up to 1 GB and no time limit.
x86_64 is for Intel and AMD processors; ARM64 for ARM ones. If you are not sure, run uname -m in a terminal: x86_64 or aarch64.

flatpak install https://download.mboxviewerpro.com/linux/com.mboxviewerpro.MboxViewerPro.flatpakref Requirements
- x86_64 (Intel and AMD) and ARM64 processors.
- GTK 4.14, libadwaita 1.5 and WebKitGTK 6 or later. The packages install them if they are missing; Flatpak brings its own.
- It works on GNOME, KDE Plasma, Xfce, Cinnamon and MATE.
Pro on Linux
The free version is the way to try the app: there is no Pro trial, and Pro is always paid. You buy it on our website and the same key works on Mac, Windows and Linux, with the same computers: the lifetime licence covers 3 and the annual one 2, in any mix.
To activate it, open the licence screen in the app and enter your email and the key. Activation needs internet; after that the app works offline.

How to install it, how it updates and how to remove it.
Updates
With the .deb or the .rpm, new versions come through the system updates (Software Updater, Discover, GNOME Software) or from the terminal. With Flatpak, from the software centre or with flatpak update:
Ubuntu · Debian
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade Fedora
sudo dnf upgrade --refresh Flatpak
flatpak update Once a day the app also checks whether there is a new version and lets you know; it never updates itself. You can turn this off in Settings › General › Updates. In Flatpak it comes switched off, because the software centre already tells you.
Uninstall
Use the command for the way you installed it. Your mailboxes and the index files next to them are not touched.
Ubuntu · Debian
sudo apt remove mboxviewerpro Fedora
sudo dnf remove mboxviewerpro Flatpak
flatpak uninstall com.mboxviewerpro.MboxViewerPro On Ubuntu and Debian, purge instead of remove also deletes our repository and its key.
Language of the system dialogs
The app has its 21 languages built in. The open and save dialogs and buttons such as “Cancel” come from GTK and use the languages installed on the system. If you choose a different language from the system's in the app settings, install it too. On Ubuntu, for example for Spanish:
sudo apt install language-pack-gnome-es-base With Flatpak:
flatpak config --user --set extra-languages "es" && flatpak update Check the downloads
