Takeout Reports

Changelog

Every version of Takeout Reports for Mac and Windows, newest first. The two apps share the same engine and translations, but each store has its own version numbers, so every entry says which platform it belongs to.

macOS

macOS 1.0.1

Mac App Store

New help, better accessibility, faster

  • Full in-app help with search: how to request your archive from Google step by step, how to read the report, how to explore, and how to check for yourself that the app never connects to anything.
  • The welcome screen explains where to start if you don't have your archive yet.
  • Errors are explained in your language, and a ZIP that isn't a Google Takeout no longer gives an empty report.
  • Better with VoiceOver and the keyboard: lists you can move through with the arrow keys, ⌘1 and ⌘2 to switch views and ⌘F to search.
  • Large archives open sooner, and previewing photos and text no longer slows the window down.
  • More protection against damaged or tampered archives.
  • Findings in the report now agree when the number is one: “1 photo with no coordinates in the file itself” instead of “1 photos”.

macOS 1.0.0

Mac App Store

First version on the Mac App Store

  • A full report on your Google Takeout archive: what's inside, how much, from which years and which services came back empty.
  • A read-only explorer to browse the archive where it sits, without unzipping it.
  • No size limit and no internet connection: nothing leaves your Mac.
  • 18 languages, and free.

Windows

Windows 1.0.1.0

Microsoft Store

New help, better accessibility, faster

  • Full in-app help with search: how to request your archive from Google step by step, how to read the report, how to explore, and how to check for yourself that the app never connects to anything.
  • The welcome screen explains where to start if you don't have your archive yet.
  • Errors are explained in your language, and a ZIP that isn't a Google Takeout no longer gives an empty report.
  • Better with Narrator and the keyboard: F1 opens the help, Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+2 switch views, Ctrl+F searches and Esc cancels the analysis.
  • Large archives open sooner, and previewing photos and text no longer slows the window down.
  • More protection against damaged or tampered archives.

Windows 1.0.0.0

  • The same app as on the Mac: the full report on your Google Takeout archive and the read-only explorer.
  • No network access at all, and no size limit.
  • 18 languages, the same as the Mac version.
  • For Windows 10 and 11, on x64 and ARM64 PCs.
